hey yall, im about to change the antifreeze, oil and power steering fluid in my 09 TRD sport. The only questions i have are about the antifreeze and power steering. I bought the Lucas power steering fluid with conditioners and got the prestone 50/50 Antifreeze. if im not mistaken the prestone is yellow or green but the toyota fluid is redish pink, is it okay to use theese 2 fluids? or no?

ive never heard of that stuff, would it be better than the prestone? plus since its red would it be better not to mix colors?

The Tacoma requires a specific type of coolant. Read your owner's manual and match the specs.

Prestone makes several types of 50/50 coolant. Which one did you buy?

    More generic universal stuff.

You know the owner's manual specifies ATF for the PS don't you?

I always follow the owner's manual recommendations if available, and if I go a different route, I research here BEFORE I buy and use anything. Lot's of experience on TW.

    ^^^ This

I got spacey and added PS fluid before I realized my error. I had to bleed it all out a few times to be sure I didn't have much left in there. I was so angry I did that. I get Toyota ATF fluid from the dealer. It's cheap and I know it's the right stuff.

Never done my coolant myself, but when Toyota did my timing belt/water pump, mine came back filled with green antifreeze.

The Tacomas spec Dexron II or Dexron III for the Power steering. Usually Toyota only carries T-IV or WS ATF.

ATF not power steering fluid, you will kill your pump. Also use OEM coolant or Equivalent
