    Thanksgiving is approaching and so i wanted to find out more about the trip you mentioned to Big Bend. How can I be a part of this trip?

    and then since I took off the whole week, @Tynan and @TX_Lucian, is New Mexico Back Country Discovery Route still planned for during the week?

    I am sooooooo eager to get back out into the sticks!

    Let's sync up! I've never been before so I'm just going off what I read on Texas Overland and Overland Bound. Plan is still to arrive midday Friday, Nov. 17 to better beat Turkey day crowds. Get signed in and request camping spots. Stay along either Paint Gap or Grapevine Spring the first night. Hike to the Window in the morning. If my son is with me, that will be greatly dictated by him. Ideally I'd do a sunrise hike but I don't see that happening with a 5 yo. Then head down Black Gap. If there's time then maybe back up Old Ore Rd on the way out. It'll most likely just be a two night thing but if there's interest, it could easily be 3. I like to have some down time so I don't want to be constantly moving in a hurry. Currently no one else has confirmed. I've got a friend I need to bug again to convince him. Trying to budget for some essentials and recovery gear right now. I plan on being at the next TnT so we can talk about it then too.
