Calus is no joke until you figure out the mechanics. Took us about 3 hours to figure out what to do since we went in blind. 3 on the inside and 3 on the outside dealing with adds. I haven't done the inside (the darkness zone) so I've no idea how to do it yet. My job on the outside was add clear and listening to which callouts were made so I could melee the Psion inside the uncalled bubble. The 3rd round is a bitch since Calus likes to focus on who is clearing the Psion's and usually causes an explosion after the laser hits and sets the floor on fire. Doesn't do that until the 3rd. The first to are him just shooting me with the laser. Once the inside crew take out as many skulls and we take down Calus's shield (which you really need to time perfectly to do the most amount of damage to him) then we go in a counterclockwise direction on the pillars the Psion's were standing on. As soon as he raises his arm get off the platform and move as fast as you can to the next. Rinse and repeat. Coldheart melts him though along with a rocket or two in between.

I'm trying to figure out what challenge mode will be for the raid. I've got a feeling on the dogs everyone will have to take turns holding the egg (as I like to call it). The gauntlet may be the same thing where each person will have to run the orb and everyone else will have to shift to the pillars shooting the two that aren't called out. The Baths? Not sure.

Throne room is easier, just have to be on point.

Quite honestly the only room we had trouble figuring out on our own was the gauntlet room. Running the gauntlet was the only trouble we had but that's just communication about which orb you're going to take. Skip the next one and let the others take that one and then back. The final floor caught me a couple of times. Only takes 4 to make it but I imagine Hard Mode all six will have to make it. Shouldn't be hard.

As I've mentioned before... The normal raid is to just get you prepared for Hard Mode and Hard Mode is to get you ready for Challenge mode.

Baths and Dogs are the easiest to me. But exploring the ship is a lot of fun. Again we went in blind and found all the chests so we had a shit ton of tokens. I think I ended the raid with almost 70.

yep...we'll do 2 rockets to get his shield low, let them build up skulls, then another rocket to do the final drop. everyone w/ coldhearts definitely makes a difference.

That's a pretty good setup. The only issue (at least with our group) is we don't have the complete setup as they did in the final encounter. We "might" be able to do that but to play it safe I figure we'll do it the way we've been doing it for now until we get some more characters leveled up. We don't have much of an issue with wiping now and our callouts are good so if it takes us 2 rounds or 3 it's no big deal. Now that we have the mechanics down we'll finish it each week and as we level more characters we'll finish it at the very least 3 times and most likely more as we begin to sherpa others through.

I hate all grenade launchers. I delete everyone of them. I've got the prospector in my vault but I doubt I ever use it.

Oh yeah we all have a coldheart but we might have multiples of classes instead of the makeup they were using. Also not all of us have the same RL's and not all of us have the Merciless so we make due with what we have. Although what they did is effective I'm not too concerned with taking him down with one damage phase. If we finish in one, two, or three it makes no difference to me. We'll finish it no matter what so it's kind of a moot point I suppose.

*EDIT* I've personally got the things they were using but not all of us do.

You know Xur had the Merciless the 1st week right?

I think the main point of the video was at least 1 WL and 2 titans

I got it on a drop. The RL is what I was referring to most. I've got the RL with cluster bombs so "I'm" good. I use a sword probably 50% of the time to clear adds. We all have the Merciless and it destroys in the Baths among other things. Again.... don't really care if we get him down on the first phase or the third. It's all the same in the end.

*EDIT* And something tells me that strat "most likely" won't work in HM or CM. I could be wrong.

I dig the Ghost sticker, I'd be interested.

I tried to solo Leviathan last night. No dice. I can't get the relics into the lower level spot fast enough by myself and the sheer number of Cabal are fucking ridiculous. At least I made it past the entrance to the courtyard by myself while only getting killed a couple of times. The Legendary long distance fusion rifle "Tarantula" was very handy for picking off those dickhead rocket launching assholes. I will be surprised if anyone solos that raid.
