Ok so a new Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers opened up by me on 67th ave and Deer Valley. Went there today for lunch and it's a nice big place with all new TVs. Food was pretty decent, too. I vote we make that a new North Valley spot to go to in the next couple of meets. The place gets slammed on game nights though, so we'll need to keep that in consideration especially during football season.

I'm thinking of going there next Wednesday (Oct 4) to watch the Diamondbacks in their wild card playoff game. Who's in? Only issue is that the game starts at 5pm and I know that's too early for some of you. Regardless, I'll probably be up there anyways.

 

I'd be up for that - I saw one of those in Scottsdale today and was intrigued especially if the food is decent.....and the service

 

Service was 5 stars compared to that clown we had at Carlos O'Briens. There are a few of these around town now, but it wasn't bad at all for being a chain. Decent vibe and lots of seating both indoors and out. Burgers, sandwiches, apps, etc. and a HUGE beer menu both on tap and in cans/bottles. Probably over 50-60 different bottled beers, about 80-100 on draft, and at least another 40 or 50 in cans. Something for everyone.

 

Yeah the old Rusty Pelican or whatever it was called was an absolute dump. The wife and I nicknamed it the Rusty Trombone, for obvious reasons. I dropped in that place one time about 2 years ago and felt like I needed a tetanus shot afterwards. This new joint is always loaded with people but it's completely re-done inside and has a huge bar and tons of booths and a million large commercial Samsung screens. No matter which way you face or where you sit, you'll be looking pretty much straight-on to about 6+ large screens. Plus, it looks like they hire models in there, similar to Twin Peaks or Tilted Kilt, but without gimmicky costumes.

 

Right down the street from work. I can swing there after for a bite and a brew. Can't stay long will have to come home and let the pup out
