@4WALKER Ryan, have you ever changed the belts in a Tacoma (1st Gen)? Is it pretty straight forward? I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but it has been quite some time since I've touched an engine. I guess if you can just give me some quick pointers on what to look out for would be appreciated if you know. I plan on doing all of the belts on the front part of the engine. Just to get by the occasional squealing, I plan on "soaping" the belt for the time being. Thanks Ryan if you can give some pointers.:fistbump:

    EDIT:
HOLY SHI* Ryan, the serpentine belt looks way easy??? I'm studying YT vids right now, LOL!!! :D:p:laughing::laugh::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I'm a couple freeway exits away. But it's on the other side of the hill. Going to work from home today in case the wind decides it wants to push the fire this way

Good luck. Hope they get it under control before it does too much damage.

Should be pretty straight forward. I always recommend people draw a picture of the belt routing on the box the new belt came in and then throw the used one in the truck for emergency use. If one fails you can use the other to get home and you have a correct diagram if it's missing from under the hood. Change it when the engine is cold. Watch them knuckles. Enjoy a frosty beverage upon completion...:burp::cheers:

Should be fine. But you never know what the winds might do and where an ember might end up and ignite

I can’t disagree. Feel pretty lucky to have this view from my office. After a while, though, you take it for granted. Gotta get the work done at some point.

:brianr: Must be nice. I sure do miss my view from my building in Hawaii. Certainly didn't have a fancy office like you but I still had a window cubicle

How is your place faring with the fires? Still moving away from your house?

I went back to sleep after I posted haha. I just got up about 30 mins ago and had to jump on to a call so I haven't looked outside yet. The whole house smelled like smoke this morning though which was not great. But I think it's mostly good for now
