3rd Gen Quicksand thread

Dragons tail huh. Fun road with the right ride/bike.

 

I love my C4 bumper, BSM works flawless, limited view on my back up camera, parking sensor is off since it just makes too much noise and all bolt on.

I was thinking about purchasing the same bumper soon! Just wish they made a dual swing out! I called to see if it was possible but they said not now. C4 is the only bumper I could find that still supports BSM

Got the winch mount all buttoned up.

 

My sole regret about getting a Tacoma is not getting the QS color.

The winch is an 8k Travler winch. They are available at Tractor Supply for really good prices. Caught them on sale a few months back and picked up 2 of them for under $400 out the door. I have been using these winches for close to 10 years now and have not had any issues with them. I have 2 of them on the farm truck, one on my 500 Foreman, a couple on trailers and on our side by side. They are cheap and have a good 5 year warranty through the store.

The winch plate I designed and built my self. This one is the hand built prototype.i did thane the frame base plate laser cut. It is all facticated from A36 - 3/16" steel plate. If others are interested I may produce more in the future after I have the design finalized. It is not completely finished but good enough to run and use for it's intended purpose.

 

Thanks for the info, definitely think there would be interest in that winch plate, clean almost OEM look. Let us know if you decide to make more.

Staying close to the OEM body lines was the goal and I think it worked out well.

I'll keep y'all posted... I have a few more things in the works behind the scenes I think y'all might like too. Just getting my ducks in a row before I kick things off.

Dude I hate you. That's the exact flat color I wanted. What's the info on this "Kevlar"??

 

WHAT? how? I wish they did the quicksand flat like this. did you have to get a whole new paint job on yours for this?

 

It is the quicksand automotive paint that has dupont Kevlar pulp mixed in. I got caught in a hailstorm so they were going to have to repaint alot of it. So instead of going back with the factory paint I found a place in DFW area that paints jeeps and stuff with this. It holds up real well to scratches and stuff

 

Looking at it online, is it a textured finish?(like a bed liner) or smooth?

 

It's Textured. If you want it smooth you can do a wrap
