    Guys and gals,

I know this has been discussed before and many opinions. I want to hear your recommendations and input.

I want an agressive sound that's not too loud and doesn't drone when crusing on the highway.

    My criteria is:
    - cat back system
    - stainless steel construction
    - single side out tip (like stock)
    - would like to be sub $400

I would like a black tip but can live with stainless tip too ;)

    Thanks in advance.

Good bet for $3-500 would be flowmaster sets. Search Ebay you willl see a ton. Can't recall the exact models.

You might check out a muffler shop, that is what I did last time I wanted a custom exhaust. They're usually knowledgeable about what you're looking for. I thought mine would be quite expensive (GMC Sierra, dual exhaust, cat back) but it only came to about $350.

Exhaust sound is highly personally. I like the sound of the TRD. It is a nice step above the stock sound without being obnoxious. I've also heard the Magnaflow 40 series single and mbrp dual setups... and the Magnaflow sounds more v8ish while the mbrp takes the TRD exhaust sound and really amplifies it to the next sound level. (the mbrp is actually quite loud if your into that sort of thing, it also has a melow drone on the freeway) Listen to clips on YouTube and decide for yourself! :)

stock system with a CAI sounds good enough for my liking, only thing I'm gonna do is put a TRD tip on it.

I have the MBRP catback (dual tip) and a Dynomax muffler. The only time I get any drone is going slow on city streets lugging in 5th gear (1100-1400 rpm), simply putting it in 4th gets rid of it. At highway speeds most exhaust noise is drowned out by road and wind noise.

The only time I'd consider it loud is if I pass someone and floor it, when it kicks down into 3rd gear it screams.

Agree with gibson, I had the TRD and it would
drone at certain rpms. Gibson doesn't and it just gives it a deeper tone than stock without being raspy.

Trd intake, Doug Thorley offroad headers, magnaflow exhaust, RBP running boards, 2.5In spacer, URC O2 simulator, 5100's all around
I've got Magnaflow (not sure on the series) single exit. I also have doug thorley long tube headers and I get compliments regularly. Had this combo for about 6 years and love it. Also have the TRD CAI, not sure how much that changes the sound. Sound clips are useless unfortunately.

I recommend the Jones Exhaust Turbine Muffler - 304 Stainless Steel - 2.5" nice and quiet when you just ease along but plenty of growl when you step on it.

I think flowmaster runs a "10-50 series" and magnaflow goes by can size and shape.

It's loud (not anything compared to open headers though), but I've checked it them all out on YouTube, it seems to be the favorite and sounds the best
