@mechanicjon has a Tundra brake setup in his truck using the stock 16 inch Toyota wheels. He has this paper template that allows you to test if it'll fit.

I'm going to end up running spacers when I get bigger wheels, I'm planning on using the 17" 2017 TRD Sport rims.

You just have to drill the center out a little with stock brake lines. the Wheelers brake lines you don't have to.
    Here's the templates.

The steel spare wont fit over the Tundra brakes. You'd have to change 2 tires.

    Thanks man!
Ok so the back spacing will not be correct.
Is the change 2 tires comment sarcasim?

I asked because I have 5 spare steelys that will be going on. The profile of them where the caliper would hit is farther away vertical and horizontal from hub flange then my 04 16" aluminum wheels per measurment. It made me curious if toyota did a blanket spare wheel for tundra's amd tacoma's to save money in production.

No the steel wheel hits. you'll have to take a tire off the back if you get a flat.

Second post about half way down. Also the best tundra brake conversion write up around.

I had to do this when I got a flat, was thinking I was fucked for a good bit. Then it hit me and I was able to get around to getting a new tire the next day

Please you should see my garage. I have two Tacoma doors, an A340F, a 4Runner front diff, steering knuckles, a driveshaft, a transmission shifter, some Lexus ES300 seats, and a whole ton of other parts I pull from Tacomas and 4Runner I see at junkyards.

I also have 52 Cadillac horns hanging from the ceiling :) - that's not even all of them. I stripped some old 60/40 bucket seats for the seat rails. If you look closely you can see I use the Tacoma bucket seat metal skeleton as a welding table, lol.

I was going to list all the stuff I have sitting around, but then realized it would be easier to say that the only original parts on my truck are the cab and frame besides the fuel and braking systems :(

All work and no play makes jack stack up parts lol.

Any tips for getting the shifter cap back on?

I was having trouble shifting into 3rd gear occasionally and replacing the bushing/seat seemed like an easy project. The original seat was completely gone, so I popped a new one in and have it all back together but I cannot for the life of me get the cap back on. I know I need to hit the gym more often but fuuuuuuu. I'm almost ready to give up, throw it in 1st gear and limp down to the shop in shame

Does it have the ring you push down and turn? On that style I always use a pair of channel locks opened up big enough to catch the outer edges of it. like this. The pliers are squeezing anything they're just pushing down.
