Sorry dude there is no reason that governement funded healthcare has to be substandard. Most scandinavian countries have government run healthcare and are SIGNIFICANTLY better off.

Too far the other way! I hear you, but at the same time think about it... How many people can you treat by yourself if you are on doctor? Now how many people can you treat if you train 100 doctors to work for you as the one head doctor? You have to have a profit to run a business long term, but I agree that making EXCESSIVE profits is evil.

It had the hundreds of costs of various medical procedures done in different cities and the prices between a hospital in Houston, Tx and a hospital in Boise, ID where waaayy different.

Hospitals are charging what they want.

 

We can argue all day long, but then this thread will get closed for political reasons. All I know is that something has got to change. I prefer privatized competition, but I also see some of the appeal of single payer.

 

1436 mortgage? My god I pay 1600 per month rent for a 1br 1 bath....23 years old and full time college student.

My gf has chronic illness and now has 15+ thousand dollars in debt from medical bills and hasn't even been able to finish college yet.
