hey man. congrats on a good find.
my suggestions... buy an old 80's 4x4 toyo for snow.. less than 5k for a nice one..
if you have a 5 lug your looking at 20k easy if you want your kids to be safe. even then no guarantee will pass inspections.

Rear full long travel including upper and lower rear control arms. 37s Mickey Thompson Baja boss MT,
maybe with an adapter . But honestly the 1gen tcase won't handle the power the 2gens make during hard offroading

Like someone else said, sounds like it will be a nice truck when it's done, offer someone to trade for an older and/or higher mileage 4x4, or sell the 2wd and buy an older/higher mileage 4x4. It really depends on how badly you want 4x4. Where there is a will there is a way. That way is NOT the dealer converting it to 4x4. They can barely tighten lug nuts haha(my local dealership has actually done good work so far, on my spring recall).
    good luck

If you couldn't afford a 4X4 initially, then you certainly can't afford to convert a 4X2 to a 4X4. It CAN be done, but would be less expensive to sell what you have and buy a 4X4.

I think it's a Tacoma, let me go check again...
*Cracks knuckles* Where do I begin?
I'm pretty sure there's offroad trails here in Texas. I grew up in the PNW in Tacoma Washington so I know when you NEED a 4x4 truck. Do you think before you post?

Out of all the 4x4 trucks I have owned (2004 king ranch power stroke, 2005 2500 chevy 4x4, 2003 cummins 4x4, other gas trucks, my other tacoma, etc) I used 4x4 1 time, and it was on a boat ramp where i was sitting in some mossy green shit. This is also living mostly in Ohio, were we have some rough winters occasionally. Like others have stated, save your cash, and trade it in later on if you feel like you must. Otherwise enjoy your truck you own :)
