I feel like all brands have quality issues to some extent. Some guys who run Fox here in TN love em. But STL is a salt city... So rust is an issue if that was it. Only reason why I'm running Icon and not OME is I got a steal on an Icon Set up.

I hadn't planned to do blocks or spacers and was surprised they suggested it. I see that Headstrong has some pretty decent lift kits. Would I be better off with the Dakar Leafs or AALs in the rear?

You will always be better off replacing the whole leaf pack rather than an AAL. I have the Dakar EL095R which is supposed to be a softer spring rate. I like them but if I ever want to put some serious weight on it, I'll have to upgrade to the EL096R

Check my build thread...too much to list.
I have Fox front and rear and no real complaints. It's all a balance about what you want and how much you can/want to spend. If you're in no rush I'd wait a bit for black friday or till a group buy comes around. The end of the year tends to be sale time on TW. Almost all the major mods I have on my truck came from group buys and saved me some $$.

I have this same setup. I don't feel that the Dakar lead pack are harsh at all. Plus I love the extra weight capacity of the leafs.

I'm a big fan of this setup.

Thanks all!! I truly appreciate the feedback. I'll see if I can holdout and wait for some GBs or holiday pricing.

Got the week off, cleaning out my storage and decided to see if any of you all would be interested in my OEM Tonneau Cover. Got it back when I had my SR5, kept using on my TRD OR DCSB. Selling it because the Wife ordered me a rack for our anniversary, after we got her that 4Runner. My son and I busted the two little end seals while removing it, but you can get replacements via toyota if you like. I looked into replacing them, but just kept using it. Wanted to see if any of you would be interested before the wife posts it for sale in our area. Not looking to make a bunch on just it, just a fair offer. Thanks everyone, have a great week, let me know.

I'm in the Denver area right now but I'll be headed for Breckenridge Friday night or Saturday morning. It all depends if I wanna camp with the projected frozen flurries.

Please avoid blocks or spacers in your suspension. Even if you never intend to wheel they are still not worth it. Putting a hundred bucks worth of blocks under a thirty thousand dollar truck is insanity. I've never used an add-a-leaf arrangement myself so I can't speak from experience but I do think that a new leaf pack that is tuned to what you want would be better. If you don't want to mail order something consider getting them custom made at St. Louis Spring. I'll be getting my next set of leafs from them so I can have exactly what I want. I won't buy icon products because William Donahoe is a registered child molester and I refuse to send any money to benefit him for the residuals contract he has with the new owners that changed the name from Donahoe Racing to Icon Performance.

Fox Factory series stuff rusts allot. They are quite plush but the rust annoys me and they will be replaced with what I should have gone with in the first place, ADS. Icon coil hats crack. They've admitted the fault in the design and claim that they've done a complete redesign but we are still seeing the same cracking issues in the same places. To be honest most of these cracked hats are coming from long travel desert built trucks that are moving very fast and stuff enormous abuse into the bucket which is causing the hat failures. Still, other manufacturers are simply not seeing the same failure rates using traditionally designed hats.

In the end take a knee and seriously weigh what your plans are for the truck and what your budget is. I come from the school that wants hardware that is stronger than I need it to be for safety purposes. Others think differently but in the end I remind people. "Buy once, cry once."

What's your thoughts on ADS vs King? It will be a bit before I do my suspension, I was leaning towards King over Fox or Icon, but I have also read a lot of good things about ADS recently.

Both are top notch. I've read more articles on King coils breaking but I think thats because King sells a lot more and the people that are breaking them are a lot harder on them like desert running, long travel stuff. Both are engineered for the harshest environments and I think you would be happy with either.

Arizona Desert Shocks used to only make custom racing shocks and just recently entered the bolt on market. Their products are as good, if not better, and they use premium matierials throughout so no more rust for me.
