Would 32’s instead of 33’s make a big difference (as in better performance) on a 2.7 liter or would it be minor?

Lighter and smaller diameter = better for performance.

Is it a big difference? Probably not.

    Better question 33" vs 35"

Tire performance is depended on terrain... and even then weight is different between brands.

    35's because snorkel FTW!

That said, I went with 285's or 32.8". Best of both worlds and I don't think I would go any bigger personally because #EAF

Is any trimming required for 285s?

You also need to keep in mind the offset of your wheels because they will rub the UCA.

If you want 33's and want to not trim or cut shit, then you need to look at 255/85/16 or 255/80/17's

285's made a noticeable difference in acceleration and stopping distance in my OR. I would image a 2.7L would have a very adverse effect, and wouldn't recommend it.

However, your truck your money. Do as you please.
