I have a prerunner and my truck didn't come with the inverter or what ever it's called in the bed cabin of my truck. Can you actually buy the inverter for the bed. If not, what's the best way to run 110AC so I can get some air conditioning in my rtt

The OEM inverter is located under the center console in the cabin and wired back to the bed outlet. What kind of air conditioner are you planning to run off your truck's battery? You would probably be better served buying a small gas powered generator to carry with you on camping trips.

The smallest window sized AC is about 5000 btus and runs at 440 watts but probably spikes to 1kw when the compressor starts. At that rate, if you're running a group 31 battery, it'll probably only last for an hr before your battery is going to be damaged.

Maybe if you had some supplemental power like @Dimestore55 suggested in the form of a generator, solar, or shorepower, this would be more feasible, but yeah.

I plan on giving this a shot:

156watts continuous. A compressor a little more powerful than the fridges, but if I sleep in one of those kid tunnels

i'll probably be able to stay cool.

A small couple hundred dollar generator is the only way to go. They even have quiet models now days
