Can anyone tell me if this looks like Toyota's frame undercoating?

    Uh, a tool box
I can tell you for a fact that isn't the factory coating on your frame. My 2004 has a sort of flat black, non-textured look to the paint on the frame. Being a Tennessee truck you can eat off the underside, there isn't a damn speck of rust on it.

Oh yeah, you're rigth ..pictures can be decive, I took 64 and i remember one of the pic looks horrible and they sprayed some rubber coat that i remove with the metal scrapper... was super clean frame once removed, yeaph i had been there..I also used eastwood internal frame rust encapsulator and rust converter outside frame then chassis saver to topcoat. You have a nice DYI project

    Pretty much stock right now
My frame looks just as bad, but also has not rusted through...yet.

It's tough to be in a position where you want your frame to fail before the warranty is up. Mine looked just as bad when I bought it in 2013 it as it does now, and I never thought it would last this long. I got one of the tough ones I guess.

    Thanks for the updates.

It's tough isn't it... you almost want to make it rust worse so you can get a new frame, but then if it doesn't rust in time, then you've basically been destroying your truck all for nothing.

I called Toyota Corporate and confirmed that the factory coating had been applied, but it was done so in 2009... so it was definitely worn off of most of the rear half of the frame where it becomes c-channel.

Do you have any pictures of the undercoating on your frame?

    Yes that's it exactly.

I'd like to do some work/mods on the truck, but don't dare spend another cent until its fate is know.
