if you wheel, your front flaps will rip off. My rock bloks in the front cracked my bushwackers on a wheeling trip. I dont run them anymore since ive trimmed my metal fenders but flaps do save you a whole lot of mess.

I live in Southern California and just about anything fun is illegal.. I bought my AR before the "ban," it has to have a bullet button, now they want the bullet button to lock, and by next January I need to sign some form it sounds like.. Only 10 rnd mags too.. I can't wait to move, thinking either Oregon, Georgia, or Colorado.

Colorado would be my choice. You're welcome to come visit Texas and see if that's your jam. Certainly gun friendly down here.

I do enjoy the idea that the cost of living in states such as Texas is not only practical but affordable! Any part of that state that isn't balls hot year round though? I have little experience with TX, usually just connecting flight stops.

Colorado isn't where it's at anymore. Expensive, traffic jams, all the trails are full on weekends. You should look at Texas.

I'm keeping my huge stock ones for as long as they'll fit/work.

At first I wanted to cut down the front or just take them off, but they server a function and I lean towards the function > form side of things.

First one of my front ones got torn off while off-road, so I removed the other side. Then the same thing happen to the rears. So I have been without flaps for about a year. My daily drive includes a couple miles of gravel, I haven't noticed any damage to the paint.

This, rokbloks damaged my front plastic fenders. The world will not be any worse off for me removing the mud flaps. I actually threw mine out and just moved on without them. I suggest anyone else to do the same unless you drive a significant amount of your time on dirt roads, like literally 50% of your time on the road.

I did the same. My fronts scraped every time I backed into my driveway and it drove me crazy. I really hated that '4x4' on the rears that made it look like a Tonka toy...

I wouldn't recommend taking them off. in my case, had them off my 1st gen for about 40k miles. a few weeks ago I noticed lots of speckled paint missing from the bottom of my door. this was just the case for white. now I have a black second gun and they're staying right where they belong.

I've been driving 4X4's since the 1970's. The Tacoma is the only one Ive ever owned that had flaps, and the front ones broke off within 3 years. I removed them all at that time and never looked back. Never had any issues or damage. Mud flaps aren't the solution to any problems. If your wheel/tire combo makes the tires stick out past the fenders then you have problems. Almost all states technically require fender flares to cover the tires if they are wider than the trucks. That law is rarely enforced.

Mud flaps are required in 2-3 states and none of the domestic trucks sold in the rest of the country even come with them. Never have had them. Only the import trucks, and they are now an option on newer Tacoma's.

on my 1st gen that I use to have the tire was sticking out wider than the fender 2 inches and I work just two buildings away from the police station and have never had a problem with them at all. I'm sure I could have if one of them happened to be in a bad mood when they seen me but none yet.
