I'm sure I could figure this out, but has anyone just unplugged the noise maker for the various alarms in their Tacoma?

I bought the carista stuff hoping to be able to turn off the annoying door chime if I open the door too soon as I'm turning off the truck. The app doesn't have that feature. So I want to just unplug it completely.

The only thing I can thing of that I'd miss is the lights on feature. But I have mine set to auto so I don't ever turn them on.

So what say you...tear the sucker out? Or being the future of automobiles will something else not work if that thing's unplugged?

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
How do you kill the seatbelt alarm

Get the carista app for your phone and the Bluetooth thing from Amazon (20 bucks I think). Then pay a subscription fee (I did ten bucks for a week) and you can turn off a bunch of stuff.

I did. Thanks for the help. :)

I searched chime as well as carista. None answered the question. Feel free to link me to the correct thread or some search terms to use.

I meant to quote the one about the seatbelt chime. Door chime just hit the button on the side of the door to reset it. The chime will go off. You can't disable door chime with carista only seat belt.

I think I am going to do this as well, but do you need the subscription to have the settings applied? Or it'll still be applied when subscription is over?

this is what i used. besides tricking the truck that your seat belt is buckled it raises the seat belt connection point a bit higher making it easier to buckle up.

It stays put after you program. I've unhooked my battery a few times now and the settings are still there.

Just unplug at ignition key switch(if you have one).
Takes 5 minutes at the most.
    No more door chime.

If you don't have a key you can't turn off door chime. You can change seat belt chime. Signal flashing. A few other things.

    Not door chime. It's dumb.
