I just got some 285/75r 16 KO2 tires mounted on my stock rims (TRD off road, no lift) and I have some rubbing on my upper control arms when I turn the wheel. I'm thinking if I get some wheel spacers it could solve the issue but I'm worried that it will cause rubbing inside the wheel well. Any suggestions?

Get the wheel spacers, and then cut/trim as necessary. That's the only option aside from getting rid of the tires.

    Are you lifted?

You will rub even with spacers. CMC and trimming plastic is a must

1/4 inch spacers will probably help to clear the ucas without changing your scrub radius to the point that you will be chopping your truck apart.

I would only pair those with extended studs or extended threaded lug nuts. Our studs are short enough as it is, so taking away a quarter inch is sketchy business.

I'm running the same thing on mine. I have 1" BORA spacers and I have no rubbing on the control arms. I do have slight rubbing on the front fender lining in reverse at half turn. I'm not rubbing on the cab mount either. I don't mind the little bit of rubbing in reverse. I could beat the plastic lining in to fix it but ehh. Doesn't bother me.

School me. There's no lift on yours? Are the pro wheels spaced out that much more or does something else allow for 285/75/16 tires?

    Nope, no lift.

Had to massage the inner fender wells a tad, but nothing you can't do with a heat gun. It will still rub right at the pinchweld, but a little more massaging and it should be golden.

Pro wheels are 16x7 with a +13 offset (4" backspacing) so they clear the UCAs, but just barely..

Been out to URE and it did fine. It rub's more DDing than it did on the trails

If you want, PM me and I'll shoot you more pics.

Just ran out to the garage and took some pics. You can see the rub marks where the mud is worn off. It's very slight, and only happens when turning the wheel and going over a curb (i.e into a driveway). Simple fix, I just need to get out and do it.

    Driver Side

Front of fender well, had to be pushed in with heat gun, but no rubbing
    [IMG]

    UCA, again no rubbing
    [IMG]

Back side of the inner fender well, barely rubs - just needs to be pushed in with a heat gun.

Thank you for taking the time to take the pics. It looks like I make go this route as I will likely get new tires before a lift. Good to know that with a little massaging one can put 285s on.

Would you happen to know what offset and backspacing the stock OR wheels have?

should be able to not rub with a good alignment where they set your caster correct for that tire. then youll prob have to cut or use the heat gun for the plastic in the front

If you’re ever in the university area or do a run at URE, give me a shout, you can check them out.

    @SearArtist
What's up. I have a 2015 trd off road with the stock wheels. Looking to run the 285s. I already have the 3inch lift. I looked up the specs on the wheels I have now. It's a 16x7 with 5.5 backspace. Do you think it'll rub on the uca? Or if anyone else has the answer to this lmk. Just to give an idea which wheels I have. Pic is posted below.
