My 2016 TRD just shut off while I was driving down the interstate. Any advice?

My truck was not included in the CPS recall

 

If it happened to me, and was told it normal, I would be on the phone with yota.

Lol of course it had issues! My point was the seriousness of stalling in fast moving traffic. Internet is much less help than dealer or Toyota proper. Listen to them, not to us in this instance. Now, if it were picking a color or a wheel type or sliders, listen to us haha.

There is good information here but there is also a shit ton of bad information too. Gotta use the shit filter to get to the good stuff.

What is the build date on your driver's door frame...??

I'm Sept 2015 and not on the recall....

 

Got the tsb for the squeaky leafs and it seems to have mostly worked. The back right still squeaks at certain angles.

The diff still howls like an MFer. I have been eyeballing Outbacks, but I don't know if I like softball, Birkenstocks, or being a lesbian woman that much.

 

Well, one of the most outdoors guy I know drives an Outback. He basically lives on the trails. World class rock climber, mountain biker, skier, and he camps everywhere out of it. Has an awning he hauls around and sets up and camps. Great guy and that Subie goes pretty much everywhere. The big difference between him and most people who go off road is: He always is going off road to do something else (bike, climb, etc) where some of these guys are going to off road parks just to wheel.
I'm also the guy who is going off road to do something else, not just to go off road for the sake of going off road. I would consider a Subaru next time.

 

I like our outback, and hey maybe it will open up more options.

Any issues with power?

I'm thinking it can do everything I would need it to do, but obviously I can't test drive it loaded down with gear and people. How does it preform in real life situations?

 

We have packed it with my wife and I, and I ring in at 260 6'3" and my wife is not in the small person catagory, plus 12 year old son and 10 year old daughter with the back packed good, and I still managed to get nailed at almost 20 over in New York coming over on the mass pike.
I would buy one again. We have 6 speed manual as well.

 

My 16 OR got the CPS recall and as soon as I received the notice I took it into my dealer who immediately jumped on it and took care of it with no issues whatsoever.
