huh. how do you get ANY pin in there?!? I've never SEEN a reciever where the safety chain plate was aft of the pin.

A dumbass douchy neighbor a couple houses down the street apparently dumped some still hot briquettes in his garbage bin.

I was in my garage working on the truck and noticed smoke coming out of the bin. My first thought? Maybe I should let him know. My second thought? Let's see how bad this gets.



I'm not responsible for limiting the negative consequences of his stupidity. How else will he learn this valuable life lesson?

The smoldering went on for about 30 minutes, then flames started to appear. The bin would've melted to the ground if it weren't for some joggers stopping to investigate. One knocked on the door to let him know.

He came out with a little fire extinguisher that had little affect. Then he tried to douse it with the garden hose from about 12 feet away because the hose was too short. I guess it didn't occur to him to pull the bin closer and open the lid, which he could have easily done. It wasn't a raging inferno.

After the fire was out, his girlfried came out to take some pictures, presumably to immortalize his brilliance forever on the Internet. Wish I had video of the whole debacle. It was quite entertaining.
