Locking Lug Nuts?

    They are all very simple to remove by even an amateur thief. Not much of a deterrent to anyone that wants your wheels.

    While I agree that a thief can get past them, I installed the Toyota ones on my truck. I figured that most scumbags that would steal your wheels are likely to move on to an easier target than take time to fight the locks.

    Definitely true that they're not an end-all solution to wheel theft but it makes it more difficult.

    When the thieves come around my neighborhood, I'd rather be the guy with locks than the guy without

    If you are worried, get gorillas “the system”. Every lug nut is a wheel lock. Yes it can be defeated, but they would have to do it 24 times. Just don’t lose your key. Nice thing is only have to carry one key instead of a spline drive and lock key.

    Another thing to worry about is the thief that will smash your window looking for the lug key in the glovebox or console (whether it is there or not).

    For some reason most canadian models come with locking nuts standard. It's a norm up here, the Toyota OEM ones are strong and last the life of the vehicle.
