This morning I noticed some glass in my rear tire where the tread is. I pulled it out and it was about 1/2" deep and maybe 1/2" wide.

    No air leakage.

Do I need to get it replaced or patched? I have Michellin MS2s with about 35k on them.

OP - Doubt the tires have 1/2" tread left on them at 35k miles (great choice on M/S 2's BTW!). May not hurt to have a tire shop check them out just to be safe. If you haven't spray soapy water on them and see if it bubbles at all. Fact that it's in the tread itself could slow the leak as there's more rubber there to sort of pinch closed. But you could be entirely lucky too!
