Hi - I also posted this in the second generation forum. I have a 2010 Toyota Tacoma 2.7 L 4X4 with the SR5 package equipped with the optional Toyota 16 inch Alloy wheels (factory) and the P245/75R16 tires; purchased the truck new. The vehicle went into service in December 2009. I live in New England where they use road salt. The Toyota Alloy wheels show substantial corrosion and the finish is flaking off in large pieces. I recently had to have a TPMS sensor replaced on one wheel (independent mechanic, not a dealer)and they had to use a special valve stem because of the corrosion and they advised me to keep an eye on the wheels. It seems a short period of time for Toyota factory Alloy wheels to be showing such corrosion. Has anyone else who has these original Toyota Alloy wheels run into this problem and found a solution for it? Thank you.
