Well the two 12v charger under my cigarrette lighter stopped working tonight. I am taking an extended trip soon where multiple chargers will be necessary so I need these fixed asap.

Hoping it possibly just a fuse? I have read there are two fuses related to this (one under the hood and one in the cab). Gonna start there tomorrow morning.

Also heard it can be the fusible link or just this the outlet.

Anyone else faced this problem and have links to potential fixes? Would prefer to do this myself if it is not the fuses as I don't have a ton of money to shell out.

Also have a feeling it is not the fuse as the right one went out before the left one. Think an air pump I was using burnt them out?

So does that just entail replacing both of the outlets with new ones then?

It's actually quite easy to remove. Two plastic trim rivets and a screw under the ash tray. Don't need to remove anything else.

You can replace the fusible link but replacing the outlets would be easier.

Yeah the air pump fried the FL's. I personally wouldn't push 5A through them. They're like 18awg...

You can solder a size less solid copper awg to replace the FL.

After seeing prices for everything and testing fuses, wires before the quick connect and looking at the fusible links. I am gonna replace the fusible links hahaha. Didn't realize how easy it would be... other than finding some 20-22 gauges solid wire so far!

Ended up replacing the fusible link. Ended up costing basically nothing. Was a bit of a pain to get a small bit of 22awg wire worked in there but worth the savings. Everything is reinstalled and now works fine!
