Cool. Thanks a lot man! I don't do any offroading, but the way I look at it is, better safe than sorry. You never know what you might drive over, especially and night, and definitely don't want anything kicking up and messing shit up.

 

So went out for a sail and knew the breeze was going to die. Got moving pretty quick with the kite up and then Got across the bay and it got really light. Ended up slowly drifting back to the mooring. Never fired up the motor. Just got home a bit ago. Nothing as relaxing as a controlled drift home with a good friend, some beers, some whiskey and a couple great cigars. Perfect stress sink.

 

No problem! I almost had to test the fromt bumper against a moose in NH on my way to my ppace in ME last year, that was not fun

 

I was looking at their stuff a bit ago... WOW. Sliders, Skids... I think I'm in love. This has all the makings for a bad ending.

 

Usually the more stuff you order at once the better discount you get i got a wicked deal on a zombie package from Eddy. (Front, rear, with any options, and sliders)

 

Yeah... Not quite sure I'd go all out like that. It is my daily driver, so if I did it I think it would just be "basic" stuff like skids and/or sliders.

Guessing that's all you run on your rigs, right? All their stuff?

 

Yessir, Eddy is a one man show in the Fab shop. I have front and rear bumpers, sliders, ditch light brackets (on both trucks), hi-lift bed rail mount, and full skids (I bought the set @Bruce988jl was talking about)

 

Cool. Figured that was the deal. You're definitely a good spokesperson for them, that's for sure. Gotta save up so I can get the full set of skids. That really caught my eye.

@Cativelense, Eddie made my sliders at 0 degrees (flat) so I could easily use them as steps. I added the filler material, although I'm sure he could do it too.

I'm jealous. Very, very nice. The water keeps calling - someday I hope to answer...

It's pretty good. first class was just classroom but after that it's all welding hands on. You get your own station. He tells you what to do and shows you. Then you do it for 3 hours lol. He comes around and sees how your doing then gives you some pointers. I had the opposite issue of most people, I bury my rod too deep no pun intended. But he said it was a good problem to have lol. The instructor has been welding for 50 years and used to teach the day school but retired from that. Nice guy, easy to talk to.

 

I signed up the other day.

Got two weekends to get my rear locker working now.

Made the mistake of getting drawn into a debate with an old classmate of mine on FB last night. He's been shitposting gun control stuff on there for the last couple of days and I finally couldn't stand it any more and pointed out that all of the changes he wants to make to current laws wouldn't have made any difference to the Vegas attack. His ideology is 'to do nothing is to just accept that there's no way to fix this problem, so we have to do something' even if it's pointless. He didn't like the comparison I drew between that ideology and the ideology that led to the Japanese internment during WWII, though, so he reverted to calling me names instead.

Stupid. I shouldn't have gotten involved, but he was pissing me off.
