I am a new member and was wondering if I can put 265/70/r17 tires and wheels on my stock 2012 trd off road Tacoma that has 265/70/r16 tires and wheels without any problems? Thanks for any input

No, you can't put a 17 inch tire on a 16 inch rim. Even if you could, I imagine hitting a pothole or taking a sharp turn could unseat the bead and that would be... unpleasant.

Yes you can with 0 issues!

He did say he wanted to switch the wheels and tires not just the tires!

Ok thanks. Yeah I will be replacing the wheels too. Just got my wife a 2018 4 runner and I am replacing the tires and wheels and front grill on it to give it the pro look without the pro price and was going to use the stock wheels and tires off of it on my Tacoma

You might rub on the mud flaps on the front but other than that youre good to go. Welcome aboard!

Edited to add: i put 265/75/16s on my truck with no rub, but when i swapped to 265/70/17s on fj wheels, it rubbed on the front mud flaps. Most likely it was due to a difference in the wheel backspacing though

Absolutely. As a night shift guy that switches to a normal people schedule on my off days, the first day isn't always easy.
