Everyone in East Tennessee just calls them all coke as well. Atleast everyone I’ve interacted with. Pop is a northern thing

People tell me I have 2 voices. 1 is my normal "hillbilly" voice. I'm from Southern Indiana. We have a dialect all our own. It's a cross between deep south, Eastern Kentucky hillbilly, and "Hoosier". I use this voice the most. I find it has a purpose. People tend to think "dumb ol' country boy" and they let their guard down. I also have learned to speak a perfect "King's English" clear, perfect diction, and well educated. That's for certain occasions like at the board meetings (at work) etc. Most of the time it's the dum ol' country boy thang...It's like a comfortable pair of shoes....Just FEELS better. People that understand hillbilly don't mind it. Those that take offense to it don't much matter to me anyway. So yeah...It has a purpose.

Oh yeah....Southern Indiana AND Northern Kentucky, it's ALL just a coke too...

Ther s a lot of pop Sayers there too. And the reason is the persuit of coal by east TN natives up through WV into PA, the land of pop. They then returned home with this fancy new drink they leaned as pop. Pretty cool.

I cleaned this up slightly from the movie but this is what I think of when I hear the word coke ....

There's these three guys walking on the beach, a mexican, a white guy, and a black guy.

They find this pot, rub it, and a genie comes out. The genie says, "You can wish for whatever you want." So he asks the Mexican what he wants, and he says "I want all my people in America to be happy and free, and in Mexico." So the genie goes poof. It's done.

Then he says to the black guy "What do you want?" and the black guy says, "I want all my black brothers to be back in Africa, and happy and free and everything." So the genie goes poof. And they're all back in Africa.

Then he says to the white guy, "What's your one wish?" And the white guy says, "Wait, you mean to tell me that all the mexicans and blacks are out of America?" The genie goes "Yeah", and the white guy says, "I'll have a Coke, then."

I only drink Coke. Pepsi is only good with liquor in it.

I call it pop or coke. Soda is northern and too proper for me

I used to drink Coke. It hastened my progress to becoming a diabetic. Diet Coke taste's like puke. Diet Pepsi is 1000% better. Haven't had a "Coke" in 25 years. Drink Diet Pepsi daily.
