I personally really like the heavier duty director's chairs (normal height, not the taller ones) with a flip-up side table. I picked up one at Sports Chalet when they closed their doors and it has a table on one side with cupholder, and a soft side cooler on the other side. Both fold down flat. The chair is rated to hold 300# and it is nice and solid. I'm done with the soft folding chairs and their bad posture.

I’ll second the director style too

The typical camp chairs fail at the front corners of the seat with weak grommets.

We have two wood director chairs I got a steal on at a yard sale and two metal frame ones from Camping World. The taller ones are perfect for tailgate dining...

EDIT. Standard chairs just a tad too low for tailgate as evidenced by impromptu parking lot lunch

I don't actually put ice/drinks in the cooler, but it makes a second place to rest things (your plate of food, bag of chips, etc) and I put munchies inside of it.

I have the older version of this. Works great. Used it for the last 12 years camping and around the house.

Shug is great! What a life he's having. Total lust for life. I've tried to get him interested in coming out west to enjoy the desert environments but he isn't budging yet.

    Any recommendations?

I have a new family camping tent and am going to introduce our 2 year old to camping. I've got her first sleeping bag on order, and am looking for an LED light/lantern that I can use to hang from the tent ceiling. Obviously, want it to be lightweight. Doesn't need to be a beacon, just want some softer light for the times when it's needed, like getting pajamas on, reading bedtime stories, etc,. In my backpacking tent I just hung an LED keychain light from the ceiling and it worked great (and is an option), but figured I'd throw it out for some recommendations for a tent light.

Lightweight, budget friendly, LED, rechargeable is okay (batteries are fine also).

Yep, that's what I use in my backpacking tent since they weigh next to nothing.

Might be the ticket for the car camping tent, too. I'm not seeing anything I had in mind on Amazon, anyway.

I really like this for when I'm not backpacking. I like the quality of the light; soft, but still plenty bright to read by when its clipped to my 4-person tent. I really like the hanging clips it has too; makes it easy to hand from the top of your tent or you could rest it on a rock/the ground while you're putting your tent up in the dark.

I use one of these with a white chap-stick lid as a diffuser. I have a small loop of cord through the hole in the base that I can girth hitch to the tent ceiling. It also shares the same battery size as my headlamp.

May not be exactly what you are looking for, but I love the Luminoodle for this exact reason and for other great uses around camp.

    Only White - https://www.amazon.com/Luminoodle-P...TF8&qid=1507240134&sr=8-3&keywords=luminoodle

    RGB - https://www.amazon.com/Luminoodle-P...TF8&qid=1507240134&sr=8-3&keywords=luminoodle

They work awesome for a warm tent light to hang up, can just throw a small portable battery pack in with it and it is great, but keep a larger battery pack that fits in the bag that has dual USB outlets so i can have light and charge a phone at the same time. The RGB would be great as it can do the colors so may be nice for the 2 year old as who doesn't like colors!
