Note the speed that it's making that noise. Feather the throttle up and down a little from that speed and you should be able to continue making that noise as long as you want. My truck does it around 62mph.

My noise is exactly like the video posted. It only happens with the a/c on. Any thoughts?

That's the whistle from the front lower control arms.

I have a 16 TRD OR v6. Mine does this accelerating up hill. The speed is usually around 50-60mph. The engine rpms are around 4500-5200. It sounds like some high pitch ringing caused by some part or parts hitting resonance. Like the the valve train is ringing.

There are some really unusual noises coming from these trucks.

Oh yeah and my LCAs are taped.

I see your AC was on.

Mine make this similar sound as well.
I notice it usually during the first cycle or so when the AC is on.

Yep, now that the weather is cooler I notice it less......and only when the AC is on. I had the control arm howl and the TSB fixed it. This is an entirely different noise. Hopefully it will work itself out but my 5000 mile service appointment is in a few months so I will make sure they give it a good look.

My 2.7 makes the same noise with the ac on... I would say it's related to that...

Hey guys, I just noticed my truck started doing this about a week or so ago. Mine is a 2.7l auto and does it when I'm accelerating pretty hard with the AC on. Has anybody figured this out?

Mine also does this, same exact thing, AC on. Mines a 17 v6 4x4 dcsb. It's only happened a few times so it doesn't bother me much. But it's always been shortly after taking off from a stop at around eh idk 30mph? Pulling up a hill too if I remember right. Sounds like a wind made whistle for sure but I have no f'n clue on where to find it or where to even begin looking.

Mine does that with the AC on, but it's very intermittent and usually at low mph, accelerating.

For you 4x4 guys...maybe check the carrier bearing. Don't go to dealership, they'll want to take down and replace whole lower unit unnecessarily.

Mine just started with the exact high pitched noise starting at around 40 mph and only stopping when below 40mph. Driving me crazy. I was thinking lower control arm noise, but seems really high pitched to be that. I did have my AC on when it started and haven't turned it off to see if that makes a difference.

Went in for 1 year service three weeks ago with 8900 miles on her. They gave me a blank stare when I showed them the video again and have not heard anyone else come in with the issue so they are still clueless. I will have to drop it off when they have a loaner truck available but the hail damage repairs have them all accounted for. The issue ONLY happens when the AC is on. Drove it all winter without the sound. Bumping just in case someone knows of a solution.

I know exactly what it is. It's an easy, free, 3 minute fix, but I'm not going to tell you because your video is in portrait orientation. #verticalvideosyndrome #videoshaveconsequences

Mine does it too. I noticed it on cruise control the other day, and a few weeks ago as well.

Had mine in for the 10k service. They replaced the compressor. They said the clutch was scraping on the compressor. A shim was installed with the new one. No more noise.

Prior to the noise, I think my compressor was stuck the first few times I turned on the defroster. It sounded like a hammer banging on the block about 5 - 6 time before breaking free. That noise I suspect was the belt slapping on the pulleys.
