    Hello All,

I recently put BFG KO2's on my truck. I replaced the Toyo 165 65 17 tire with the BFG 165 70 17. My question is on the clearance. There is a little bump on the steering knuckle that is about .45 inches from the tire. I've been driving the truck for two (2) days now and there is no sign of rubbing. I went to the Dealership and walked around checking the clearance on the trucks on the lot. There did not seem to be any major difference in clearance, but when I looked at the Tundra, this little bump on their steering knuckles appeared to be growing down flat. Is there any purpose for this bump or can I grind it down flat without altering the structural integrity of the steering knuckle to give the tire some extra room? Is the .45 inches of clearance OK? if so I'm going to leave it all alone and just go with 255 70 17 BFG's next time. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If it’s not hitting your tire (something would be SERIOUSLY F’ed up if it was) then leave it alone.

It's fine. I run a couple mm's of clearance between my tires and UCA.
