I think I had to turn mine 8 times to gain an inch, but yours may be different.

Edit: 8 full rotations of the collar. Takes forever and is near if not impossible with the UCA in the way.

guys I've got a problem. when I turn the adjusting collar, its turning the shock body, so I am not gaining any threads. it is held firmly at the bottom. collar allen is loosened.

You have to hold the body side. The rod will just spin as you've discovered.

I don't have a good vise, so I came up with this. mounted the shock to a board. with a little triflow on the threads it worked great! 1.25" / 11 threads on the left (to compensate for lean) and 1" / 9 threads on the right. If the lift is too much once I install them, it will be much easier to move it lower versus higher.

haha, someone in the Wheelers Anonymous thread just yesterday morning was telling me that they did the same exact thing to adjust their's. I'll probably end up having to do the same when I take mine off soon to readjust the preload.

Nice! So how many full turns of the collar to get the height you wanted?

So youre showing 10 threads above the collar? I need to go and count mine. My truck doesn't look like its on a 3" lift compared to everyone elses rig

Just for future reference, you can adjust Kings with them on the truck if you remove the bottom bolt but leave the top bolts in. Pull the bottom of the shock toward you and this allows you to move the UCA out of the way with a jack under the LCA (crank it up until it clears). The shock stays in place via the top bolts still attached and its much easier to adjust with the UCA jacked up and out of the way. Did mine this way a couple weeks ago, worked well.

Yes. Measure from fender to hub center to check your height.
