I'm replacing my stock BF's with Cooper ST Maxx's. Keeping the stock Toyota 2656517 aluminum rims. Can I go to the 2656517 tires without having to install a levelling kit?

Probably. Depends on which trim package.

Pretty sure 265/65/17 is the stock tire size, so yea, should fit without issues.

x2. You can go 265/70/17 with super minor rubbing on the mudflaps.

I was mistaken, the truck has Bridgestone Duellers on it. Will the ST Maxxs be overkill on the lighter Tacoma? Almost all the reviews are on full size trucks.

If you only drive on pavement then sure its overkill, but your truck will look good, and people will think you do actually go into the wilderness.
Just get C load 255 75 17. They are 55lbs. A Duratrac or Ko2 is around 45 lbs in 265 70 17 in C load. Nitto and Toyo also have great tires.
You can check out the specs on Coopers website and see the weight and size of the Maxxs.

Bush roads, daily driving on Crap roads. Looking for quality, durable, sweet looking, aggressive tires!

Very happy with mine. Handle very well, look good, and surprisingly quiet.
