I may have tweaked a few things...
Next question, how will the 90000s work as replacements for my Monroe/oem? I haven’t been able to find anything yet that says they won’t work without lift coils and leafs. Anyone know if they will ride just as well? Then i’ll Have the 886s on hand for when I get a bumper/winch.

The 90000s are valved for additional weight also (110-220 lbs over factory). The 90021 are OEM replacements.

So, ride will be firm, or maybe worse with that 2.7 and Prerunner combo since you have less weight up front than a V6 4x4.

    Personally, I’d pass.

I keep coming back around to just saving up for 5100s or grabbing a good deal for TRd takeoffs. Thanks for the input.

Depends on if you want a lift or not.

You could even keep an eye out for a set of third gen shocks and coils and get an inch of lift out of them, be using factory stuff, and you could buy a full set of take off shocks for probably $150 or less.

That aside I had 5100s as my first lift and had no complaints. When I upgraded everything to a full OME kit, I wished I had kept the 5100s or bought them again. I didn’t find any appreciable difference in the OME shocks, the front shocks clunk over speed bumps if you’re going faster than 5 MPH, and they cost a lot more than 5100s.

Plus, they’re not bright fucking yellow.

So that's what the clunk is I
get every once in a while. They do pair nicely though.

    I though about painting them.

Yeah, likely. They have an internal metal bump stop that makes that sweet, jarring clunk noise.

My only real complaint about them, outside of seemingly no gain of performance for the additional cost over 5100s.

I’m not interested in lift, mainly because I figure running heavy 33s with my 4cyl would suck. I’ll get 265/75/16s next but C load Duratracs or Falken Wildpeaks to keep the wheels light. This is still just a DD that i’m trying to be more adventurous with.

I almost feel like TRD/OME yellow might look good on Timberland Mica. I’m sure the 5100 Silver does too but i’m Trying to remove as much chrome/shiny as I can.

If lift isn’t what you want then just stick with OEM.

5100s are valved for lifted applications, anyway.

FWIW, I had 2.75” of lift on my 2.7 Prerunner DCSB and I was on 265/75/16s and had no complaints, even with my auto trans.

This is about the same lift as the 886 coils would be, but rode like a cloud instead of like a cement truck.

Nice, 2 people figured out their ‘clunk’, that has to be worth clogging the CL thread for a little bit.

Thanks everyone for all the advice!
