I have 2 driver's side. One stainless and one powder coated that I bought second hand and had to touch up with some vht heat paint. They rubbed my tailgate when the cb antenna swayed with the wind. I'll sell one or both to you.

I have tried the one for the driver side, and there is not enough clearance. But I was able to determine that the passenger side gap is big enough. Therefor I am looking for a passenger side C4 fab tailgate mount. Willing to trade if interested.

    Cheers

I realize that you are looking for the C4 Fab part but wondered if you were aware of the Total Chaos bed stiffener. Not only does it stiffen the bed but has a place on top for mounting an antenna. These mount just inside the tailgate. Of course, you may have a topper that precludes mounting an antenna in that area. I had not heard of that C4 Fab part but it looks pretty good. Wonder why they don't offer it anymore?
When mounting antennas in this fashion you don't get a omnidirectional radiation pattern from the antenna. With the antenna mounted off the passenger side with the C4 Fab part, the pattern will be skewed diagonally across the truck toward the drivers side fender. If you have an idea of the direction that you want to talk you can take advantage of this by judiciously parking the truck. Might extend the range a few more miles.

Huh? Why does it matter which side you mount it?

Thanks for the information. I have seen the bed stiffeners and like them, however, I have a cover on my bed preventing me from mounting in the bed.
C4 Fab stopped production on this part due to the rubbing issue with the tailgate.

I am not sure what exactly you are describing with the omnidirectional radiation pattern. Are you saying that the antenna has to be in line with another part of the car? the battery or the radio?

Please elaborate, as I am interested in this.

    Thank you
