I recently developed a problem when I forgot to unlock my hubs shortly after I got off the trail. I had it in 2wd but the hubs were locked and all of a sudden a loud pop noise came so I pulled over to investigate and noticed my hubs were still engaged. I unlocked my hubs and the noise and binding went away. After I got home I started to look further into it and it would still bind up when hubs were locked in 2wd after about 2 tire rotaions. When I have it in 4wd it moves maybe 3 feet and wont budge at all its completely locked up until I pop it in 2wd and unlock my hubs. I'm stumped and need a good direction to start diagnosing the problem. Thanks

The transfer case must not be disengaging from 4wd completely. Beyond that I don't know what to look for.

Tires all the same size? When you put it in 2wd and unlock the hubs after its been bound up. Slide under it and see if front drive shaft spins freely.

Sounds like the transfer case is hanging in 4wd. If your sure the hubs completely unlocked and you were in 2wd . Its in transfer case.
