    Hey guys,
I just traded my '13 Tacoma (base model) for a '17 Tacoma SR with an access cab. Since the new one is quite a bit taller with larger wheels/tires and I assume a 4x4 suspension, I want to get some side steps. So what side steps do you guys have/recommend?

I'm not a fan of the big tubes that run the length of the cab, but I really like THESE STEPS.
Anybody try these or something similar to them?

Also, since apparently new cars don't come with floormats unless specified in the parts list, any recommendations for all-weather floormats? I like the Tacoma branded ones, but if there's better options out there I'll give them a look.

And I think people who've purchased the N-Fab steps have been happy, however I cannot speak from experience as I've never owned a set of them

Your title is racist... So is your truck 4wd? Do you plan on using it off road?.
Steps like those can hang up and do a lot of damage to the rockers. I personally prefer rock sliders . You can buy them in a step configuration . They protect from rocks and when you crest an obstacle or something as simple as a door ding.

I've heard both weathertech and husky are very good but I've only had weathertech .
I'm gonna go with husky this time ..

I would love if steps were as useful as on full-size trucks but if your legs seen t long enough they hinder you getting out of the truck. Also getting into truck you have to duck your head if you climb up onto step

Thanks for the recommendations! They both look pretty similar and the WeatherTech's are a hair cheaper on the their site.

The truck is 4WD, but I don't intend to do any intense off-roading. Just dirt/gravel roads to campsites, dealing with mud here and there, and snowy fields in the winter. So I don't see catching on obstacles being a problem.

I have used both WT and HL. Went with the HL on my Access Cab. Very pleased with the quality and snug fit: PICS

Check out Toyota OEM rubber mats. I like them better than the Weather Tech's I had in my Dodge. On the steps. If you have kids you might want to worry about their feet slipping on the steps and sliding between the step and the body. Possible broken leg. Another thing. those steps won't keep rocks from being thrown up and denting and messing the paint up on the body of the truck. Plus--------I have a 2017 Tacoma Off Road 4X4 and it was supplied with option R2 5" Oval Tube Step. Yes it runs the length of the cab. But I noticed right off that it is of little to no use in getting into and out of the truck. Sits too high. Now the steps you showed do seem to sit a little lower so they migh work better in this requard. Of course, the steps you showed as well as the ones I have both bolt to the body. If you hit something with them then its going to mess up the body. Sliders bolt to the frame (I'll be installing a set of those on my truck soon). Also, parking lot door bangers will mess up the side of your truck in short order unless you do something to help prevent that. Sliders would help there.

But in the final analysis, its your truck and you need to do what you like. Otherwise, you will never be satisfied.

I got husky ones since I heard they are slightly above weathertechs but probably any floormats will do really although the weathertech/huskys will probably give you more floor coverage. The husky x-act contour's seem very durable and cover the entire floor and are surprisingly smooth to the touch even though that is a useless observation lol. They also look really nice and have no regrets.
