    For first gens.

So for the guys that want to run led turn signals.

So here is the hack. When you install an led turn signal and you get the rapid flash the computer thinks you have a bulb out. You can trick the computer by modding the flasher unit it self.

The flasher unit is located on the back side of the fuse block under the dash.

    1) remove the flasher unit.
    2) open the flasher unit. Push in on the 4 tabs. Pull out the circut board.
    3) grind the metal loop thing with a dremmel tool (That loop thing measures resistance. Led's like to be around 100ohms) I removed about 2/3 of the loop thing.

    4) install and test you might need to grind more to up the flasher resistance.
    5) reassemble flasher unit.

This will eliminate all inline resistors you need to run led turn signals.

Sorry for the shit write but it's the best I got. It is a super easy mod.

The loop thing meaning the component on the right side just below the copper box? Looks like a staple? When you say grind on it, do you mean make it thinner? Do you have a pic of the finished product?

If we want to be technical the loop doesn't measure anything. It's a comaparitive resistor the chip uses to measure current iirc :)

Not all flashers will have the loop, many have a normal looking resistor. You can swap just the resistor if you want the same results.

If you mess up your flasher doing this you can do pick up an led flasher relay for a couple bucks at any parts store. 5 second swap.

    This.

It’s too easy NOT to just swap to a LED flasher from the get go.

    Cool mod, though!

Lol too many pronouns on my part - I meant "it" as in the system.

You can also just cut the wire and solder the resistor across the 2 base points. A lot easier than drilling out and soldering to the traces.

And for the love of saving your sanity DON'T follow those posted instructions. That guy probably pulls his engine just to change his oil. Just reach behind the fuse panel and pull it out. Make note of its orientation so you get the new one in the right direction and put it in. It's really that easy.
