    ^^^ This. I also want a flat plane. I need to measure more carefully but from my quick measurements, on the 3rd Gen the factory roof rack seems to be about 21" in height from the bed rails.

    In my opinion a taller rack pack is better but if go with the 19" rack then it'll be lower than the OEM roof rack by about 2" and I have nothing I can add to it to compensate. If I go with 16" then I can find a cargo basket that's approximately 5" tall to match the OEM roof rack height.

    Anyone come across this dilemma?

    What are the deminsions for the 1st Gen Tacoma Xtra Cab? I want a rack that is the full length of the bed.

    Bought the AllPro Modular Rack for my truck a while back. I also had an old Gear Rack I used with my 2010 Tacoma and decided to use it again. Mounted my High-Lift on the pegs. It takes up space, but I like it so far. Will give it some time and see if I will keep the setup.
