Accident.....how much and how long?

In a parking lot and hit a pole trying to avoid someone who took a wide right turn. Insurance contacted and going in Tuesday to get fixed. Sucks. I love this truck! How long is this going to take to get fixed and how much is it going to cost? I know all I have to pay is the deductable, but it's still drivable and I barely tapped the pole. I can believe it cause this much plastic to crumble. No airbags, no mechanical damage and no fluid leaks.

 

I would guess it would cost your deductible and maybe a week or so.

Doubt there's aftermarket or used parts out yet for these trucks.

Thinking $2500.

 

Wonder if sometimes it is better to stay the course and have the other driver hit you, instead of trying to avoid. At least the damage would have been covered by the other insurance company, and perhaps not charged for an accident.

 

I haven't figured out yet why everyone thinks their cars need to turn like a semi truck.

 

I know, but it was an elderly woman driving a 1990's Mercury Grand Marquis style car. I chose the pole instead. Can imagine what damage that car would have caused.

It really depends on how busy the body shop is for how long it will take. I've had a car in the body shop for three weeks before they touched it and I've had a car that was in and out within a week.

 

Most likely it's gonna cost your deductible.

 

Both will be more than you want or expect.

Get a crackerjack shop or you'll not be happy with the blending of that black metallic.

Not so sure... My truck got assaulted by a Land Cruiser one night while it was parked in front of my apartment and didnt look much worse than this, ended up being 6500 out the door. Luckily they left a note though, thank you State Farm!

 

I have Progressive and my rep told me that since there were no others cars involved my rate would probably go up about $100.

 

$100.00 per.....??? Year? Month?

Yearly. He said that in his experience that most it would increase is $100 yearly. I'll be waiting for my next bill. My wife and I have both cars, house, motorcycle and RV insured through Progressive. I hope this experience isn't going to ruin my record. I haven't had an accident in 15+ years.
