Hello! FNG here, but not new to Toyota,

so here is my tale, I had an 08 tundra for 7 years and traded it in for a 17 Tacoma TRD Sport access cab, long box, Inferno, love the the little bugger! what a step up in technology from my old tundra! my wife was driving a 07 Camry xle, and went and bought a 2018 camry xle a few weeks after I bought the Taco,

well..... the Camry is even better than the Tacoma,so not to be outdone I went to the dealer and ordered a TRD Pro in Cavalry blue  I figure if I like the Sport that much a Pro would be that much better, Right????

so since the 2018 Tacoma's haven't even been released yet, how long do you think it will be before it gets here?? the dealer said 6-8 weeks. I don't believe a word they say though.

    so place your bets gents!

I don't understand the competition with a spouse . You should work as a team or when retirement comes along big surprises pop up , but I am old school .

Just kidding I have not seen anything official about the 2018s on toyota's website which leads me to believe that it could be a few weeks still maybe 8-12 weeks. Glad you're liking your Toyotas.

2017/2018 Toyota pricing sheet doesn't include 2018 Tacoma's that was updated a week ago... file:///C:/Users/joseph.campagna/Downloads/2017_2018_Toyota_Pricing_10_2_2017.pdf

I predict 6-8 weeks until you realize if you kept the sport you would already have had pretty much the same truck except for some aesthetics and a 1" lift for the last 6-8 weeks

I'd say... don't hold yer breath..... If you ordered a specific truck, then yours will be a while.... I'm thinking Groundhog Day... Feb 2th 2018

Did you get the tech package? I believe the 2018s come with that and all the safety gizmos as standard. I didn't want that, so I'm happy with my 17.

The backup camera is the only bit of new tech that I really like. Well, that and bluetooth. =)

I just searched inventory on southeast Toyota and they are still building 2017 Tacoma’s til November 24th. Not sure if one plant is building the 17’s and the other will switch over to 18’s sooner. It does appear that all of the trucks in the pipeline now through the end of November VIN start with a 5.

    Agreed.

We've only had a couple of new rides out of 50 or so. She always got the most reliable ride.

Could work out to be the same for them.

I didn't realize marriage was a competition. Clearly I'm doing it wrong.

Ignore them. Most here are pretty helpful. It seems the wait for the ‘18s is really unknown, it could take several months to get what you want.

If you think the Camry is better than your Tacoma (guessing tech and comfort/features wise is what you are hinting at) your new one won't be any different so not sure why you are making the switch and spending more money. Do you plan to go off roading a good amount? Are you going to mod your new truck? Money saved could have gone towards making your current truck a better match for you?

Also it will take as long as the dealer says, they know they are the ones placing the order...

So my bet is this thread was useless!
