I know what you mean man...used to be the safety guy for a crew like that. Whats cool though, they will likely never have to worry about financial stuff as the knowledge they know is ALWAYS marketable and in demand.

So true. I've never hired anyone to work on my house until now. I need reroof, windows, and electrical upgraded. I contemplated doing it all myself and decided not a good idea on this stuff. Don't trust myself doing that type of work. Would take me forever.

Then you completely missed the point if you are referring to my post. If you recall, that line is from the movie Jaws when Robert Shaw is putting down Richard Dreyfus because he was rich implying he never worked for a living, which is what I see going on in the world today and to some extent in this post though more directed at the younger generation as well as white collar jobs.

It stems from insecurity, no one is putting down blue collar jobs, my parents are blue collar, my first job was a logger, I was enlisted pushing cargo 12 hour shifts in hazardous environments, deployed multiple times. I debated becoming an electrician or an A&P Mechanic but I realized very early that the economy shifted. We are now a technology and service driven economy so I switched it up.

I'm also not implying everyone is going to become a master at every trade but it doesn't take 20 years of experience to lay tile or brick for example. I've seen too many shit jobs from "experts" and "professionals" to bother with them anymore.

@gulzeb this is true, exactly to my point about convenience jobs, weknow how to change our oil but don't always have time. That said my friends would lay stone for an hour every day, after a week they completely redid their fireplace.

    Never said I was a master welder/fabricator.

nobody here is talking about deployments, even though I've been to a few places in Iraq myself.

You are the person that I was referring to. And I haven't seen anybody putting down people, other than yourself. If I'm wrong, I will apologize.

the reference was lost on me. Early in the morning it was.

    Cool side story:

My Dad built their house by himself from the ground up. The only thing he contracted out was the foundation, crane for laying the logs and trusses. He did all the electrical, propane, radiant floor heating, plumbing, framing, chinking, floors, sub floors, carpet, trim, drywall, decks, etc. He did it all from watching Hometime VHS tapes that we would watch after coming home from work, then spent every weekend working on the house. House passed every building inspection and they just recently sold it for 230% profit.

Set an appt for Thursday to have them wrap up. With all the conversation prior what should I look for on the caster when they are done? Installed a OME lift kit that is ~2.5" with oem UCA.

    Cheers!

Aim for as much as you can get without sacrificing camber too much. I'm at 1.56* of caster and it's not too bad.
