I have a2003 Tacoma with 143,000 miles on it. Last week I discovered that I had a frame issue and contacted Toyota Customer Service. They informed me of what my next move should be and that was to bring this truck to any Toyota dealer for a frame inspection. This was done the next day and just received notification that a complete frame replacement will be done once the parts arrive at the dealer. My question is I need an exhaust system anyway should I buy it at the dealer and have then install it ? Is so , do I get charged for labor even with the truck torn apart. Also , are there any other parts that should be done at this time ?
My previous Tacoma was recalled and purchased by Toyota, and was told they don't buy back anymore.
Thanks for any help with this !

If you’re going to get new exhaust system, just buy it and have them put it on. Ask if they will charge labor, they may only charge for parts since it will already be torn down. I had my empty car hit in a parking lot by an impatient driver and the front fairing and one headlight was broken. I opted to have the other headlight replaced too so it would be new as it was all yellowed up. They only charged for the part since the front end was already disassembled.
As far as other parts, you may want to check your suspension mounts, or just ask the tech who will be doing the frame swap.

If the dealership isn't going to gouge your for the exhaust install then go for it, otherwise it might be cheaper to just get an aftermarket exhaust and have a shop do it.

    Reserected from the dead.
The exhaust is only held on by 2 bolts.

Buy it from rock auto. Ask nicely and they will install out four you. Maybe offer the tech a subway card or 2.

They’ll probably charge parts and labor. You can ask, good luck anyway
