Finally got the Blackvue DR490-2CH installed using the parking magic pro. It went fairly well and the quality looks really good. I let it run while I put everything back together. The rear camera footage shows a blue screen. I'm not 100% sure that I had it fully plugged in at the front camera. I'll continue to monitor that. I'm not a fan of the parking mode kicking in simply because the truck isn't moving. I'd prefer it kick in when the truck is turned off. Maybe a firmware update will fix that soon. But so far so good.

Possible suggestion... I settled on using the Trailer Brake circuit as my switched hot. The good thing with using this circuit is that it only receives power at actual engine start-up or on the second button push. Using this circuit cured my parking mode woes (my camera never entered parking mode - just stayed in driving record mode, even with the ignition off). Might be an easy thing to try if you're using add-a-fuse to connect your wiring. Also, is there a way to disable using the G-sensor input to trigger parking mode in your camera?

Unfortunately my camera is designed to go into parking mode based on the truck being still for so long, not on ignition. And it takes me driving it slightly to kick into normal driving mode. So when sitting in line at Chick Fil A at lunch today it went into parking mode and recorded an event when I started moving again. I contacted Blackvue asking for a firmware update to fix this but haven't heard back. Here's a quick video just to show the quality.

i had this happen, i think it is from not pushing the plug in all the way. double check that its pushed in all the way.

So Blackvue recently came out with new firmware v.1.1.476_2017.08.17 that "Fixes an issue where the dashcam would take longer than usual to exit Parking Mode or turn on Parking Mode while driving in very slow traffic."
However when I applied the update it just made the camera constantly reboot. Luckily, I had the older firmware version saved on my laptop and was able to load it back.

360 degree cams are not something I have had experience with. They claim they have a sony sensor and ambarella processor but I didn't see specific types, but either way my hunch (which could be wrong since I haven't used a 360degree cam) is that it will make license plates really hard to read. im afraid everything will look super far away with such a wide angle lens, and would be worried there would be much less detail as a standard cam.

i could be wrong but i did see this before and it raised an eyebrow for sure.

for which cam? I reviewed the 490 non lcd model recently that had that issue and they said an update was coming soon.

ive had it for a few weeks but i have been so behind I just today put it in my tacoma. I had been driving my company vehicle the last 4 months on weekdays so it made it harder. I have the anker C2 review which will probably be up this week, a review on some 360 degree cam this week too then the thinkware F800 and blackvue dr750s-2ch (and 1ch) in the next 3-4 weeks probably.

I don't have the f800 pro but i dont really see any difference in specs other than supporting 128gb cards instead of 64gb in the regular model, and the low power mode in the pro model. the low power mode is for parking where it supposedly uses 1/3rd less power because its not buffering 10 seconds of video like in normal parking mode. that means when it senses and impact it doesn't start recording until a fraction of a second after, instead of saving 10 previous seconds of buffered video. i think i would rather have the buffered parking mode anyways. it could be good for people who park for extra long periods of time though.

The Thinkware F770 is a great camera. I've had it installed for a few days, and luckily I haven't had anything exciting happen. I think the only thing I wish it did was not talk to me every time I get in my truck.
