    Trip is full - Until next time

    Starting in St. George UT on Sept 28 and ending near Mexican Hat on Sunday Oct 1st. This trip will take us across some amazing country with a few short hikes thrown in. Zebra and Tunnel slot canyons, Peek a Boo and Spooky slot canyons and plan to stop at Lake Powell for a short swim :) Also check out Calf creek falls, Hells backbone road and maybe grab a bite to eat at the Famous Hells Backbone Grill. You don't need a fully built truck though, we stay together as a group, wait for everybody at turns, and help each other with breaks and stucks. This will be a great opportunity for you "Overlanders" to get out and test your systems and explore some great country for 4 days. You will need AT or mud tires, full size spare tire and tools to change it, VHF comms, and backcountry camping gear as we'll be doing dispersed camping. We do have scheduled gas stops but plan on 5 or 10 gallons of extra fuel. Also need to bring firewood, 2 to 4 bundles per truck but may be able to buy more at the gas station stops.

    It would be awesome if we could get a couple Taco's to start running with us! If you would like to go, pm me your email address and phone number.
    This will be a moderate pace with stops only at areas of interest so that we can cover as much trail as possible. Camp is normally setup at sunset and break camp around 8am-9am.
    There will be multiple water crossings, sand, slick rock and lots of fun.

    Beer drinking and general shenanigans will be encouraged.

    Role Call:

    I have the following trucks confirmed so far:
    @n2deep, Craig +1 4wd Tundra Gen2
    @KevinK, Kevin +1 4wd Tundra Gen3
    @osidepunker, Alex solo, 4wd Tundra Gen2
    Spencer, solo, 4wd 4Runner
    Zac2, solo, 4wd Tundra Gen3
    Zack 4wd Tundra Gen2
    @ryanjboutin Taco
    Riley 4wd Tundra Gen1

    Tentative:

    Route/Itinerary:

    Final routes TBD
    GPX/KML file supplied if needed
    Max 8 vehicles

    We will be starting in St. George, UT approx 8am on Sept 28th. I have space at my house for a couple trucks if you want to drive in the night before and caravan up. I am about 30 min from St. George.
    Weather should be perfect - cool nights and warm days

    Meal Planning:

    TBD - normally we split meals and you only have to cook a meal for the whole group once - breakfast or dinner and are responsible for your own snacks, drinks and lunches. This allows you to relax and enjoy without having to cook for every meal.

    This trip was inspired from this post- https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/southern-utah-traverse-s-u-t-august-13th-19th-2017.489995/ and have made a few adjustments to stops and routes.

    We're always up to some kind of no good. About once a month we try to get out in the southwest US for 4-6 days.

    Check www.sgu.life for the current calendar.
