It seems that Toyota has jacked up the prices on parts. They tried to charge me $10 for a single bolt, and $135 for a door latch... I dont know how long this has been going on but whoever is making these prices up (let alone buying them) is smoking the funny stuff...

Are there any preferred OE brands that you guys recommend? I am in need of a exterior door latch and am concerned about fitment.

Give part numbers or part descriptions to @gunny1005. He works for an online parts dealer and will give you the best price guaranteed.

Forgot. It was a tailgate bolt. Nothing special.. I started laughing (loudly) at the parts counter. The clerk decided to sell it to me for $4.50

Toyota crap is always ridiculously priced, one of the biggest things I hate about toyota. Had to buy a throttle cable to go from my cruise to the throttle body. Nothin fancy, bout a 3 ft long straight cable, and it was $130 and a toyota only item. Next time I'll just he'd to a bike shop and get one made.

I was blessed to have a hook up on parts, but I ended moving states and shipping isn't really a viable option.. But I never realized Toyota was this bad. Lexus, sure. But Toyota Tacomas!! I can't say the Corolla was an affordable car with a straight face after seeing some of these prices. For instance, center caps for rims. Toyota wanted ~$50 per cap. (Piece of plastic) Since cars are becoming more and more plastic and things seem to be less durable I can't see myself buying a new car any time soon. I live in Arizona so all things plastic are going to break.

I've since turned to eBay/Amazon and am going to check out any (and all) recommendations I get from TW. I really like this community.

It very well might be different where you live

I have found so many places never delete inventory when the part you need is sold .

Yet tell you yea we have it drive 60 miles get there one of the yard guys goes to hunt for it comes back 15 minutes later says it`s gone we must have sold it

The women in the office must be behind updating things yea a few years

    So just be aware
