4x4? I dont think you can go larger than a 4.88 in the front if you are a 4x4.

    A thing or two...
4.56 gears will get you back to stock RPMs with 33" tires. With 4.88 or taller gears you're going to be running high RPMs at freeway speed. If think you'll go up to 35s in the future, you might consider 4.88 gears as that will run stock RPMs.

4.88 all the way, way less driveline stress. Yes RPMs will be higher, but I honestly believe your engine load will be less there for you won't be burner more fuel.

In addition, that wheel tire combo has got to weigh alot as well....still sticking with my 4.88 recommendation.

What does it cost to do something like this on a Tacoma, is it different then other vehicles I did a jeep not long and wasn't to expensive, I bought the parts and did it my self, but I called a place today they said 2700$ thought was kinda of high

Check out east coast gear supply, they can send (core) preassembled diffs to just swap in and send your original ones back.

You have the "8.4"in rear diff and the standard 8in clamshell up front. Give east coast gear supply a call and they will get you hooked up.

But i also recommend 4.88's with the 4 banger and that lift / tire combo. Yeah you are gonna be spinning more rpms, but the 4 banger likes to rev and needs to rev to move so. win win.

as far as i know, there is no 5.29 kit for the front diff. i have a 4 cylinder with 4.88 and 5.29 would be better.

If you can do it on a Jeep you can do it on a Toyota although the front my be worth shipping off to east coast gear supply because it requires special clamshell tools

4.88's should do the trick. 4.55's would be closer to stock, but the weight of that setup will bog you down a whole lot. Not to mention the drag that you've created with that much lift. 4.88's, header, free flowing exhaust, intake, lightweight pulleys...or a supercharger. Gotta have a drivable rig. This is a useful tool, but don't forget to factor weight.
