For those of you with ditch lights.
What did you do about your corner trim pieces where the brackets mount?
They obviously dont fit back where they came from.
It poured twice this past weekend and im curious where the drainage goes now and how imperative these pieces are, or not...
I would like something there to keep debris out.

Just trim and fit originals somehow?

    they are cali raised brackets
I am concerned with debris. Shit gets real here in New England with foliage, etc.

Ill figure something out. I might trim the pieces and make some kind of mesh barrier in the hard to reach spots.

Are you sure about that? SOS website says some trimming is needed. Just double checking since I've had ditch lights and brackets on my "to buy list".

I see where the OP misread the fact that you have to trim... right below the Tacoma description is the 4runner description and it says you have to trim minor plastic to install on a 4Runner.

Well, shit. I need to learn how to read again. I swear I saw "cowl cutting required". My bad:facepalm:

I trimmed one corner piece last night. Wasn't difficult at all, just kept trimming the width of the bracket till it slid back in place. Feel much better now.

Only reason i went with Cali raised really was for the price for the package deal and a 20% off coupon.
I did look into hood mount brackets initially.
Overall i am not disappointed. Took me 20 minutes of trimming overall maybe for the cowel at initial install and these little corner pieces.

i can see the appeal of hood mount, i also do not mind a little DIY activity.

I do think they sit at a perfect height. I would not be pleased if they were higher.
