Key Fob Backup Position if Battery Dies??

What happens if the battery dies on the key fob, and you're no where near your 2nd set of keys? The valet key that goes into the key fob is only good to open/lock the door, open/lock the glove box, and open/lock the tailgate - correct? Is there a location for a manual key fob insert where I can start up the truck? Similar to a new Ford Raptor where they have it under the rubber pad cup holder if the key fob battery dies, you insert it in the slot to manually start it up. Wondering where ours is located at? Or how do we go about this? Thanks

 

Hold your dead key against the push to start button and then push the button, it will start.
You can test it by removing your battery if you like.

 

A valet keys' purpose to open the door and start the vehicle - not open the glove box or trunk. That is the point. You would secure your valuables in the glove box or trunk and the valet cannot get to them.

 

Yes I understand the concept. I lock all my stuff in the glovebox when I take it in for service and keep the valet key with me. Thanks

Yes the battery in the remote for push button start is only for locking/locking the doors. There is an RFID chip of sorts in the remote linked to the computer so unless the truck battery itself is dead also it will start.
