Have fun turning! But this truck has a great turning radius to begin with I suppose.

Anyone who has trouble turning or parking a dclb probably shouldn't be driving a truck anyway.

You need to record the SAS on that same spot to compare! SAS is going to make that trail seem like the MALL parking lot:rofl:

I ended up getting the DCSB, even though I was sure I wanted the LB to haul stuff. The bottom line for me was MT versus AT. I traded in a BMW M3 for this truck and the drop in power from the M to the Tacoma was about 1/2. I figured I could still have fun by shifting at least. And of course I have my dreams of adding the supercharger at some point.

Wow this thread was started a long time ago and still going. Here was my deciding points. I haul stuff on a regular basis and the 1ft is a definite bonus. I am stepping down in truck size from a crew cab dually ford f350 so this is a tiny truck for me. With the lift and topper the proportions look much better. In stock trim I think the DCSB looks a lot better and they do have their place. I think the DCSB is more practical for those who want to do some serious wheeling and who will occasionally haul something. I am very utilitarian so the LB made more sense to me and more appealing. Do you loose turning radius sure how much I'm not sure but I can get my truck into some tight places really easily. Learn to back into parking spaces and tight areas you'll find it's much easier in any length vehicle.

That thread alone is reason enough for me to never wheel a DCLB. I'll be using a DCSB for as long as I need a truck. If I need an extra foot I'll put the tailgate down, and if I can't fit something then, i couldn't have really fit it well anyway with a 6 foot bed. A trailer really serves me better anyway than a truck bed for large or heavy things because you don't have to lift into it, you just roll, or drag whatever you're transporting. Things like a heavy power washer, dryer, fridge, become one-man jobs instead of a 2 person job.

I agree with you that this trail is extreme for a long box as far as doing the switchbacks, but this trail is pretty gnarly for everyone, war stories for sure.
If this is what your doing then as short a wheelbase as possible is great. Most owners won't be doing this kind of shit your pants trail.
Anything half way normal a 6 foot box is fine. I'd like to have a bit more cargo room.
On Dirt Everyday TV they took a full size stock Tundra to Moab and did Hells revenge with stock tires. They go up it around the 13 min mark.

A long bed was a hard requirement for my truck. Need to sleep under a canopy with the tailgate up.

There will always be a trail that a 6' bed can't handle, just as there will always be a road that a 5' bed can't handle; everything has limits.

Understand what you require and accept the limits that accompany those requirements, and you'll be one happy wheeler.
