Clinking sounds inside cab

    1999 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 when warm it idels about 200-350 but will rev up too 1000 but make a click sounds in the dash on passenger side along with in the Motor bay. It doesn't happen all the time it dose it 3-4 times in a row then stopes for a minute of so. anyone know what could be the problem could be

    Is your CEL (check engine light) on?

    Your idle is way too low, it should be around 700rpm.

    Idle problems are sometimes caused by a problem with the IAC valve (Idle Air Control) which is attached to the underside of the throttle body.

    If your idle is suddenly going up to 1000rpm, that could be caused by the AC compressor being turned on by the computer. It does this when the heater control is set to defrost.
