Was thinking of doing the exterior in tan, the same tan the new tacomas have. Or was it sand color. Then, the plastic exterior panels will be black.

Really wanna see someone who's taken some harder hits on those. I know stainless is supposed to be tougher than regular steel right? Haven't seen anyone post pics of that skid actually getting some abuse. Not hating at all, just curious to see how it does.

What he said. Either color match it or paint it in something that contrasts/complements your color better. That white/gold looks terrible, imo.

Yeah it is strange. I'm not a fan off the plates, remind me of big ole lego pieces of something. I do wish there were some plates on mine to rest things on but that's what my tailgate will be for I guess.

Also bought a pair of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/371886930216
The side markers are exactly what I am looking for, no amber and not smoked. Needed the new headlights too since my old ones are looking rough from being taken in and out of the oven so many times

It was fun. Definitely derailed our plans a but also made for some of the most memorable parts of the trip. Which truck are you getting a 'Nest for?

I have a j style transfer case and rear locker with abs. I was just curious if these little were triggered by something on the shifter. That is. If I tied the wires from the transfer case into the proper lighting circuit would it work

There are 3 sensors on the transfer case, one for transfer neutral, 4 HI and 4 LO. The instrument cluster as it is does not have any indicator lights for 4 HI for 4 LO, only for the 4x4 symbol. In a stock truck the sensors go to the 4WD ECU and didn't serve any other purpose otherwise besides lighting up the stock 4x4 symbol and working with the ECU

You would have to custom make a gauge face where there are unused indicators and have a transparency printed or make one yourself. I'm in contact with a manufacturer of automation equipment who makes gauge faces for their equipment to have one made for me.
